The systems

What there is to do

System active

16 gods

Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Athena, Ares, Apollo, Artemis, Hephaestus, Demeter, Dionysus, Hermes, Aphrodite, Hecate, Persephone, Boreas — and Hypnos in early access. Each god has its own passives and activated abilities. Every ability is written out on the Houses page: the button you press, what it does, the numbers, the cooldown.

System active

The Ascent — one ladder, twelve skills

Mining, farming, woodcutting, fishing, hunting, melee, archery, defence, crafting, brewing, enchanting and athletics all feed one account XP bar. Every level gives you one point. You spend points on whichever skill you want, up to 100 per skill. Your god makes some skills level faster and some slower.

System active

God Ranks

Twelve ranks in every house, Initiate to Olympian. You rank up automatically when your total skill level and the Favor you have earned for your god are both high enough. Higher ranks unlock and upgrade your god's abilities.

System active

The Favor race

Every month the houses compete for Favor — points your work and your fighting earn for your god. A house scores on the average of its top fifteen contributors, so a big roster does not win on its own.

System active

The Pantheon war

The gods stand under three banners: Zeus, Poseidon and Hades each lead a pantheon. Kill a player from a rival pantheon and your house is paid Favor. Kill one from your own and you lose Favor and get cursed. Duels are consensual and can carry a wager.

System active

Dungeons, parties and zones

Party with anyone from any house. Everyone in the party near a kill gets the full reward — it is not split. A separate Combat Level (1 to 50) gates the dungeon zones; you cannot walk into a zone above your level.

System active

Jobs, altars and the market

Fourteen jobs pay everyone: Miner, Lumberjack, Farmer, Fisher, Builder, Hunter, Archer, Rancher, Blacksmith, Artisan, Alchemist, Enchanter, Healer and Explorer. Job levels are permanent. Your god changes how much each job pays, from +30% to −30%. Burn items at your god's altar for Favor. /forge opens the Hall of Forges, the staff-run merchant stalls.

The Ascent

The Ascent: One Ladder, Twelve Skills

Every skill you train feeds one pool. Mining, farming, woodcutting, fishing, hunting, melee, archery, defence, crafting, brewing, enchanting and athletics are the twelve skills. Each keeps its own abilities, milestones and rewards, but the experience they earn all goes into one account ladder, called your Ascent level. You do not level twelve bars. You level one.

Your first hour

What to do first

Step 01

Kneel — /pledge

Open the Hall of Pledges and read every god side by side, or name one and pledge on the spot. Your first pledge is free. Switching later costs money and has a cooldown, so read the Houses page first.

Step 02

Open the Codex — /guide

A copy is pressed into your hands the moment you first arrive. Thirteen chapters explain everything on the server in plain language, from permanent Favor and the houses to the dungeons and the marketplace — and it always shows the live command list, so it can never go stale.

Step 03

Go to work — /jobs and /favor

Fourteen jobs pay drachmae for normal play: mining, farming, building, fishing, hunting and more. Open /jobs to see the rates and which jobs your god pays extra for, then /favor to see what you have earned for your god.

Step 04

Spend your first points — /skills and /skills spend

Every account level you earn is one skill point. Open /skills spend and put points into any of the twelve skills — left-click for one point, shift-click for a bulk spend, right-click to read what a skill does.

Step 05

Take the Trials — /quests

Seven daily, seven weekly and seven monthly trials, the same set for everyone and no pledge required, paying drachmae and Favor as you finish them. Now and then the Oracle privately marks one of your unfinished daily trials — finish and claim it within twenty minutes and its Favor is paid again, outside the daily cap.

Step 06

Watch your rank, then find a party — /godranks, /party, /combat, /zones

Initiate, the first rung of the Mysteries, is within reach the day you pledge, and it arrives on its own — check it any time with /godranks. Then group up across any house with /party, watch your Combat Level with /combat, and open /zones to see the dungeon chain and how far up it you have earned the right to walk.
